A piece is unbalanced when its center of mass (center of gravity) does not match its geometric center. This condition is caused by an unequal distribution of the weight of the rotor around its geometric center.
Every rotating piece, even when it has been made keeping the greatest care, always presents an unbalance.
This residual unbalance, depending on the type of piece, weight and speed, must be less than the maximum unbalance permitted by the standards.
