WEARING OF CRITICAL PARTS IN THE MINING INDUSTRY

In mining, a cone crusher or mill is a machine designed to decrease the size of objects through the use of force to break and reduce the object into a series of smaller or more compact volume pieces, like rocks or other solid materials.

Wear during the operation of machines can be defined as the progressive loss of material on the work surface when they are adjusted to a relative movement under the action of a force. These wears and breaks arise due to the interactions that take place during mechanical action. This loss leads to damage to the dimensions of the parts with the consequent decrease in the useful life of any machine.

Based on the design of traditional cone crushers or mills, we are able to identify, manufacture and machine bronze parts with the alloy that most optimizes the durability of our wear parts, significantly highlighting our work above the market. In case of requiring an alloy other than the bronze that we offer, we also fulfill the function of intermediaries and obtain the part to later machine and deliver, always with very good quality products.

Bronze is any alloy where the main element is copper. It is usually combined with lead, tin, zinc, manganese or aluminum, among other less used elements. The amounts can vary depending on the need and sometimes there is even the addition of other elements to modify the physical and mechanical properties of the alloys, as the case may be.

The advantages of a quality bronze over other wear alloys are due to the following factors:

  • It accumulates less heat than other metals, for this reason it is used in the manufacture of industrial elements, since its use is safe.
  • It is less rigid than other metals, making it easy to handle.
  • Bronze is resistant to corrosion and this extends the useful life of products made from this alloy.
  • It does not generate sparks when it hits a rigid surface, this makes bronze a safe material to use in the presence of flammable gases or explosive elements.
