LEFT: BORN IN JUNE 8 1867 IN SAN DIMAS DURANGO MEXICO, MAXIMINO RICE MARTINEZ MOVES TO MAZATLAN IN 1896, AND AFTER WORKING AS MECHANIC, STABLISH BY HIMSELF IN 1909 AS BLACKSMITH, FOUNDING "MAXIMINO RICE E HIJOS".

RIGHT: PICTURE TAKEN IN 1909, SHOWS MAXIMINO RICE ( 42 ) AND TWO SONS; ANDRES ( 4 ) AND LUIS ( 2 ). THIS PICTURE HAS BEEN OUR ICON FOR 100 YEARS.

CENTER: DON MAXIMINO DIED IN 1938 AT 71.-  THE SAME YEAR THAT JOSE LUIS "PECHE" RICE WAS BORN.-

RIGHT: LUIS AT 25 AFTER ONLY WORKING FOR 2.5 YEARS IN A MACHINE SHOP IN SAN FRANCISCO, HE WAS ALREADY HEADING PROPELLER INSTALLATIONS.



LOWER LEFT: PECHE AT AGE 11 IN 1949, WAS ALREADY ON THE PAYROLL, AS RAUL RAMIREZ'S HELPER, A FIRST CLASS SAND MOLDER.

AT THAT TIME, 1944, THE MACHINE SHOP AND FOUNDRY WERE TOGETHER.

IN 1959, TALLERES RICE WAS 50 YEARS OLD, DISTRIBUIDORA RICE ( CAT AGENCY ) WAS 1 YEAR OLD, AND FUNDICIONES RICE WAS FOUNDED.-

RIGHT: THIRD RICE GENERATION IN 1963: GUILLERMO, IN CHARGE OF THE MACHINE SHOP, ANDY, SERVICING CAT ENGINES FROM ALL OVER, JOSEPH, DESIGNING AND BUILDING WINCHES, JOSE LUIS "PECHE", DESIGNING AND CASTING PROPELLERS AND HUMBERTO, HELPING HIS FATHER IN THE CAT DEALERSHIP.-
